All you need to know about ICC Women’s World Cup 2022

 The much-awaited ICC Women’s World Cup 2022 is about to start from 4th March. Due to the Coronavirus pandemic, the tournament was originally in 2021.

A total of 8 teams will take part in the tournament. All teams will play each other once and the top four teams would qualify for the knockout stage. England, Australia, India, South Africa qualified directly for the prestigious tournament finishing in the top four of ICC Women’s ODI Championship. New Zealand made it into the tournament being hosts.

As the ICC qualifying tournament was canceled due to pandemic, Bangladesh, Pakistan, and West India progressed basis on the ICC ODI rankings.

It promises to be a cracking tournament with many veteran players like Mithali Raj, Jhulan Goswami, Ellyse Perry, Katherine Brunt, and a few youngsters who would feature in this prestigious tournament. The matches will be held in 6 venues named Hagley Oval, Christchurch, Eden Park, Auckland, Bay Oval, Mount Manuagai, Seddon Park, Hamilton, Basin Reserve, Wellington, and University Oval, Dunedin.
