After the field restrictions, the Pakistani bowlers kept it tight with disciplined bowling against Luus and Wolvaardt. Luus was given out by the umpire but on review, it was overturned due to the ball hitting the edge of the bat. Wolvaardt showed intent against the spinners reaching her fifty off 75 balls and maintained the momentum for South Africa by taking singles and hitting occasional boundaries. Ghulam Fatima made an important breakthrough dismissing Wolvaardt with a simple return catch. Luus and Wolvaardt added 89 runs for the 3rd wicket.
