Malaysia Masters 2022: HS Prannoy and PV Sindhu enters quarterfinals

It was another good outing for the Indian shuttlers as PV Sindhu and HS Prannoy moved into the quarterfinals with comprehensive wins in the Super 500 Malaysia Masters played in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on Thursday.

PV Sindhu proved too strong for Zhang Y M of China in two straight games. It was a dominating performance by the Indian keeping the pressure on the young Chinese winning it by 21-12, 21-10 to move into the quarterfinals. She will face her nemesis Tai Tzu Ying of Chinese Taipei. Sindhu has a poor record against Tai.

Sindhu would be looking to avenge the defeat that she suffered during the Super 750 Malaysia Open that took place last week. The Indian lost her quarterfinals match in three games. After winning the first game, Sindhu did not look her best losing the next two games thanks to some brilliant display by Tai Tzu Ying.

HS Prannoy impressed once again after he defeated Wang-T-w of Chinese Taipei in two straight games. The first game was a closely fought game before Prannoy held his nerves to win the first game 21-19. Prannoy showed his domination in the second game-winning it by 21-16 helping him to move into the last 8 stages. He will now face Kenta Tsuneyma who defeated Kento Momota in two straight games by 21-15, 21-16.

Parupalli Kashyap lost to Anthony Gingting of Indonesia in two straight games. The Indian did not look at ease losing by 10-21, 15-21 to be knocked out of the tournament.

Sai Praneeth also lost in straight games to Li S F of China. Despite giving some tough fight, the Indian lost by 14-21, 17-21 to be knocked out of the tournament.

HS Prannoy and PV Sindhu will be looking to continue their impressive form in the quarterfinals hoping to move ahead with good performances.
