they did not allow their opponents to make circle penetrations. Canadian
attackers tried to try, but Indian midfielders did a superb job. At the end of the first quarter, India led 1-0.
The second quarter saw the Indian team dominate with circle penetrations.
A superb pass by Lalremsaimi as Navneet Kaur left Candidan goalkeeper
struggling in the 22nd minute to give India a 2-0 lead. Canada made a
strong comeback with a lovely goal via penalty corner by Stairs the next minute
reducing the goal to 1. Canada put pressure on the Indian defense and kept the
momentum going. At the end of the first half, India still led 2-1.
It was a decent start for Canada in the third quarter as
they kept the pressure on the Indian defense. Hannah Haughn converted from a penalty
corner in the 39th minute to level the scores at 2-2. Canada kept the
pressure on the Indian defense with 2 penalty corners but failed. At the end of the third quarter, scores remained at 2-2.

Indians converted. India then put pressure on the Canadian defense with a
penalty corner. Lalremsiami made it 3-2 with a lovely rebound shot in the 51st minute. Candidan Thompson was awarded a green card. The Indian forwards looked
solid enough as Candidan team decided to take away the goalkeeper.
