WI vs SA 2nd Test 1st Day: Bowlers Dominate Proceedings
The bowlers
had a great outing on the first day of the 2nd test match between

August 2024. This is an important test match for both teams in the 2023-25 ICC
Test championship cycle after the first test ended in a draw.
South
African captain Temba Bavuma won the toss and decided to bat first. It was not
an ideal start for the visitors as Zorzi stumps were shattered by Jayden Seales.
Shamar Joseph struck twice in the same over-getting the wickets of Aiden
Markram and Temba Bavuma to leave visitors struggling. Tristian Stubbs and David
Bedingham steadied the ship for South Africa before Jason Holder struck to
dismiss Stubbs with a stunning catch by Kevin Hodge. Stubbs and Bedingham added
37 runs for the 4th wicket. South Africa went into the lunch break
at 64 for 4.
After the
lunch break, the West Indies pace bowlers destroyed the South African batting
order. Shamar Joseph got the big wicket of Bedingham with a peach. Jayden Seales

bowling.

superb resistance, Burger was dismissed by Gudakesh Motie. Burger and Pidet
added 63 runs for the final wicket. South Africa recovered from 97 for 7 to 160
all out as Pidet remained not out on 38. The play extended as the last wicket
added resistance.
