Champions Trophy 2025: Updated Australian Squad

 

Australia also named their revised squad for the upcoming Champions Trophy 2025. They have been dealt big blows with Pat Cummins, Josh Hazlewood &Mitchell Marsh will not take part in the prestigious tournament due to injuries. Marcus Stoinis announced his retirement from One-day international cricket. Mitchell Starc who was a part of the provisional squad, will be not a part of the squad.

Steve Smith will lead the side in the absence of Pat Cummins.  Sean Abbott, Ben Dwarshuis, Jake Fraser McGurk, Tanveer Sangha & Spencer Johnson have been named as replacements for those five players.

 Australia will be without their three key pacers including Hazlewood, Cummins & Mitchell Starc. Spencer Johnson, Nathan Ellis, Spencer Johnson &Ben Dwarshuis would be the pace bowling options. Adam Zampa & Tanveer Sangha will comprise two genuine spinners.

Matthew Short, Maxwell &Travis Head can do the job of part-spinning options. They will play two One-day international matches against Sri Lanka on 12th and 14th February in Colombo before moving ahead to the prestigious Champions Trophy 2025. Australia failed to qualify for the knockout stage of CT 2017.

  Schedule of Australian Team For CT 2025

The Australian team has been clubbed in the group of death with South Africa, England & Afghanistan. They will begin their tournament against arch-rivals England on 22nd February at Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore.

Australia will then take on South Africa in their 2nd match on 25th February at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium, Rawalpindi. They will then finish the league stage against Afghanistan on 28th February at Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore.

The top two teams in each group will qualify for the semi-finals. Australia will be looking to cope without their key players and make sure qualify for the top 4 of this prestigious tournament.
