 Thanks to a brilliant spell by Curtis Campher, Ireland registered an emphatic win over the Netherlands in the opening match of Group A played at Sheikh Zayed International Stadium, Abu Dhabi on Monday. Netherlands captain Peter Seelar won the toss and decided to bat first. It was not an ideal start as Ben Cooper was run out in a mix-up as the umpire checked if Paul Stirling took the bails off and the decision was retained as out.   Hobart Hurricanes produced a superb effort to stun Sydney Sixers in the first qualifier played at Ninja Cricket Stadium, Belivere Stadium, Hobart on 21 st January 2025. Sydney Sixers captain Moises Henriques won the bat flip and decided to field first. Mitchell Owen showed right from the word go putting pressure on Sydney Sixers opening bowlers. At the end of the first 4 overs, Hobart Hurricanes raced away to 47 for 0.
