A memorable trip to lords

Few Days ago when I was in London for a holiday on the last day of the trip a guided tour of the famous the mecca of cricket Lords happened which i never thought in my dreams that this day would come in life to see the ground in person. On that tour there was 10 to 15 people. At the start of the tour they told us the history of the ashes. They showed the place where ganguly took off his shirt and Kapil Dev lifted the 1983 world cup. They showed the place where the records of bowlers who took 5 wickets each or more and the bastman who scored the highest individual scores at that ground. I was so much happy that i could not believe that i was at the ground. They showed the committee room where the meetings happen of MCC members and the history about the ground.

The Lords ground has 18 pitches used for county matches, under 16 matches and International matches. They told the history of the ground and took us the media centre from where the commentary takes place and it was pleasure to click to photos from that place. They also told the capacity of the ground which is 30,000 and will increase to 40,000 next year. It was an amazing exprience which i will never forget and will cherish for the entire life. The last place where the tour ended was from  the ground view and told more about the ground and the tour ended.

As a fan of cricket what i watch on Television it looks a very immaculate stadium to watch the matches. It took me a few minutes to realize that i was seeing Lords stadium. They also showed the MCC cricket academy. The day we went it was very gloomy. I got a ball and key ring as a memento. Apart from Lords which celebrates 200 years of cricket in the museum there was different items like shirts of Indian team, Sri Lankan and England team, hats, books, shirts and other items. There are 4 gates to enter from to the stadium. This tour was after we finished the local tour and scotland, windsor castle, buckingham palace where the change of guard happens but was cancelled due to rains.

On the 31st of May 2014 there will be ODI match between Sri Lanka and England. They also told us the teams which changes at the home and away teams. The look from the dressing room looks awesome and if there no ban of clicking photos it would have much better.  At the whole I enjoyed the most and hope that i can see one of the matches in future.
