Amazing end to the IPL

After 60 matches the new champions of IPL 7 was crowned as Kolkatta won the tittle for the 2nd time as they won previously  in 2010. It was amazing end to the IPL tournament which saw some entertaining cricket in the UAE leg as well in the India leg. Few years ago nobody thought that 190 would be chased in 14.3 overs and in the power play overs 100 runs would be scored. The thinking of players has just increased to a new level. This IPL has helped the young Indian players to grow as a player and with the help of international, foregin coaches the players have performed better.

In the this tournament some of the best players in the world has not performed as expected with  the likes of Gayle for Royal Challengers, Dale Steyn for Sunrisers Hydebrad who was tonked for 24 runs 3 times, Amit Mishra, Virat Kohli, Kevin Pietersen for Delhi Daredevils not delivering for their teams

There were few young Indian players who made an impression and got selected in the Indian team for Bangladesh and England tour. Robin Utthappa for Kolkatta Knight Riders after being asked to open showed his class and won the orange cap award, Kedhar Jadhav for Delhi Daredevils for scoring runs in the domestic circuit and also in the IPL 7 when given opportunity, Akshar Patel who has been a find of the tournament taking 17 wickets at an economy of 6.00 is just amazing, Sanju Samson played some fine innings in the tournament and may be reckoning for selection, Karun Nair has done well in the opening position for Rajasthan Royals, Maxwell who played brillantly in the UAE leg but after coming back to India the form dipped a little, Manan Vohra who gave Punjab rollicking starts that provided the other big hitters to explode, Pravin Tambe who took a hat trick were the standout performances in the tournament.

In the final of the IPL no Sehwag, No Maxwell, No Uthappa, No Gambhir but it was the two Indians who stole the show with some fine hitting from Saha who scored 115 off 55 which gave Punjab a more than competitive total but Manish Pandey 94 and contirbution from Pathan,Chawla who scored the winning runs contributed to 3 wicket win.

This IPL has shown that the mentally of batsman has changed. In the last 3 to four matches teams have chased 161 in 14.2, 190 in 14.3, 200 in 20 overs, the best bowler in the world being smashed all over the ground, some fantastic catches, close finishes.
