Saina number 7 in BWF rankings

After the win in the recently concluded Australian badminton open championship last week the Indian top star has jumped to number 7 in the BWF rankings. She credited this win to her fitness before the tournament began and was focused on winning this tournament. In this tournament she beat the top Chinese player Shixan Wang in 3 set which made her confident and raised her game in the finals. Saina Nehwal played some wonderful smashes and her net play was good. Her court coverage in this tournament was an improvement. She won her 7th super series title and her 1st after 2 years. This win will make her believe that she can beat the top players if she plays to her best.

Prior to this tournament her form was not as good as she reached quarter finals of the Indonesian open, sometimes in the first round. In the uber cup in Delhi she was playing some good badminton winning all her single matches which made her more and more relaxed. She beat top players in the tournament with ease and her main focus is now to train hard as much he can. In the Australian open tournament finals she Carolin Marin despite struggling with her foot.

Saina Nehwal a role model has won the gold medal in the 2010 commonwealth games and also bronze medal in 2012 London Olympics which made country as she was won only female badmination player to win a medal in the prestigious tournament. Her achivements is no mere fluke and after injuries problem she might be back to her best and may win a medal in upcoming commonwealth games and Asian games.

I think Saina Nehwal needs to train hard with lot of passion and dedication. This Australian open win will her much needed boost before the big tournament starts. She must work on her speed, court coverage and not to put her under any sort pressure.
