Parthiv Patel last played a test match in 2008 against Sri Lanka will return to the Indian squad after 8 years. Parthiv Patel is enjoying good run in the ongoing Ranji Trophy season. Leading Gujarat Parthiv Patel has scored 415 from 5 matches so far with 1 century and 3 fifties.

The comeback of Parthiv Patel will strengthen the batting for the 3rd test match. His form in the Ranji Trophy has been outstanding scoring over 800 runs in 2008-09 and 2009-10. In the year 2012-13 he scored 946 runs and in 2013-14 season the wicketkeeper batsmen scored 594 runs.
