Predicted India XI for the third test
India will take on England in third test match at Mohali
from tomorrow. The Indian team is currently the leading the series 1-0 after a
thumping win over England in Vizag. The Indian team have brought in Parthiv
Patel and Bhuvneshwar Kumar into the team. With the pitch expected to help the
spinners, England need to play their best cricket to defeat India. The Indian
team defeated South Africa at Mohali last year. It should be an interesting
contest to see if India can increase their lead or England can come back and
level the series. England will go into the third test match with 3 changes.
Here we look at the predicted XI for the Indian team for third test match.
11 KL Rahul
KL Rahul was brought into the team for the second test but
could not contribute much with scores of 0 and 10 in the second test match at
Vizag. The Karnataka lad opener needs to play well and give the team a solid
start in the third test match at Mohali.
22 Murali Vijay
Murali Vijay , the other opener too did not had a great
match at Vizag scoring 20 and 3. It is important for Murali Vijay to convert
the starts into big scores. This will give India a solid foundation for the
others to build upon it.
33
C Pujara
Chetshwar Pujara scored a brilliant century in the first
innings at Vizag. India lost 2 early wickets but Pujara showed his class with
bat scoring his 3 century in a row. His technique was solid and played all the
England bowlers according to merit of the ball. He scored 119 and in the second
innings he was dismissed for 1. Pujara needs to continue his great form in the
third test.
4
Virat Kohli
Virat Kohli was superb in the 2nd test match at
Vizag. India was struggling at 22 for 2 in the first innings. He showed his
class with bat scoring 167 which helped India to score 455. In the second
innings too, India lost 2 early wickets, Kohli came and played an attacking
knock of 81 which helped India to set a target of 405. He needs to continue his
dream form in the third test match in order to give India a chance to take 2-0
lead in the series.
55 Ajiynka Rahane
Ajiynka Rahane form in the test series so far has been poor.
In the 2nd test match at Vizag, he was dismissed for 23 and 26. He
is one of the top class batsmen for India in test matches. India will be
looking for Rahane to shine in the third test match. If he get runs in the
third test match, then India will surely win the test match at Mohali.
66
Parthiv Patel
Parthiv Patel has been recalled into the Indian team after 8
years. He has replaced Saha who has been rested due to an injury. Patel form in
the ongoing Ranji Trophy has been outstanding. In the 8 matches he has played
this season for Gujarat, Parthiv Patel has scored 415 runs. Parthiv Patel will
be looking to impress the selectors with his batting and wicketkeeping skills.
77 Ravichandran Ashwin
Ravichandran Ashwin was one of the stars in the 2nd
test match at Vizag. He scored 58 vital runs in the first innings. He bowled
with great control and variations. In total he picked 8 wickets which helped
India register a big win over England. If the pitch helps the spinner at
Mohali, Ashwin will become a big threat for England team.
88 Ravindra Jadeja
Ravindra Jadeja contribution was important in the second
test match at Vizag. He bowled consistent line and length not allowing the
England batsmen to score runs with ease. At the end of the fourth day, Jadeja
picked the wicket of captain Cook which broke the back of England batting line
up. At Mohali where the pitch will help spinners, Jadeja role will be much
important.
99
Jayant Yadav
Jayant Yadav debut match was a memorable one. He contributed
with bat and ball. In the first innings, Yadav scored 35 important runs and in
the second innings too, Jayant Yadav scored 27 vital runs. With the ball he
picked 4 wickets which showed that he can become an important member of the
Indian team. Jayant Yadav should play in the third test match at Mohali as the
pitch will help the spinners.
110.
Bhuvneshwar Kumar
Bhuvneshwar Kumar has been recalled into the squad in place
of Gambhir. In the morning the pitch will be best for pacers. He was dropped
from the 3rd test match at Indore against New Zealand because of an
injury. His ability to swing the ball makes him a dangerous bowler and could
come in place of Umesh Yadav.
111.
Mohammad Shami
Mohammad Shami bowled with great speed in the second test
match. He dismissed Cook in the first innings. In the second innings too, he
picked wickets of Joe Root and Adil Rashid. With his speed and swing at Mohali
in the morning session, Mohammad Shami will be a dangerous bowler to face.
