Virat Kohli and Cheteshwar Pujara improve their rankings
The Indian test captain Virat Kohli by scoring 62 in the
first innings against England at Mohali have improved their rankings in the
latest ICC test batsmen rankings.
The first position is still occupied by Australia captain
Steve Smith who played well in the third test match against South Africa at Adelaide
Oval. The Australian captain is currently at 897 points. England Joe Root also
retains his second place after scoring well in the 2nd innings
against India at Mohali.
Virat Kohli who scored 62 important runs in the first
innings against England at Mohali has climbed to 3rd in the latest
ICC test batsmen rankings. Last week Virat Kohli was at 4th
position. New Zealand test captain Kane Williamson has dropped down to fourth
because of poor performance in the 2nd test against Pakistan at
Hamilton.
South Africa batsmen Hashim Amla still retain his 5th
position in batsmen rankings. South Africa counterpart AB De Villiers jumps
into 6th place despite not playing any matches recently. Last week
AB De Villiers was 7th in ICC test batsmen rankings.
David Warner who was 8th has climbed to 7th
in the latest ICC test batsmen rankings. India’s number 3 Cheteshwar Pujara
also climbed one place up to 8th.
Jonny Bairstow who batted well in the first innings of the
Mohali test match has come into 9th place in test batsmen rankings.
Jonny Bairstow scored 89 runs in the first innings. Pakistan Younis Khan has
dropped down from 6th to last place because of poor performance in
the 2nd test match against New Zealand. Here we look at the latest
