Virat Kohli and Pujara listed into top 10 batsmen rankings in test cricket

Virat Kohli achieves his highest test rankings as he reached number 4 in the latest ICC test batsmen rankings announced earlier today. His performance in the 2nd test match at Vizag where he scored 167 and 81 saw him rise in the rankings. He earned 97 points for his match winning performance in the second test. The Indian test captain Kohli has scored 897 runs in 9 test matches this year and hopes to perform well in the upcoming 3 test matches with England.
Despite poor performances in the test series against South Africa, Steve Smith occupies the top place with 897 points. The second place is occupied by England’s Joe Root who did not have a good test match at Vizag.
The third place is occupied by Kane Williamson who is currently at 838 points. After great performance in the 2nd test match at Vizag, Virat Kohli has climbed to fourth in test rankings. South Africa Hashim Amla good performances with bat in the second test saw him rise to 5th.
The 6th place is occupied by Pakistan Younis Khan who did not perform according to expectation in the first test against New Zealand. AB De Villiers occupies the 7th place with 786 points.
Australia dynamic opener David Warner drops to 8th in rankings due to poor performance in the two test matches against South Africa. Pujara has climbed to 9th due to excellent performances in the 2nd test match at Vizag.
England captain Alistar Cook has climbed to 10th in the rankings.
Virat Kohli is the only Indian batsmen to be in the top 5 rankings across all three formats at the present moment. Here we look at the latest ICC test batsmen rankings.
