India likely to play four test matches in South Africa

The number 1 ranked test team, India are likely to play four test matches in South Africa. South Africa visited India for a full tour and team India gave South Africa 3-0 beating. The real test for team India will come when they visit the rainbow nation in late 2017. It will be a mouth-watering series between these two super power houses of test cricket.

The dates for the series have not been announced by South Africa. "Our scheduling discussions with the BCCI are in progress and we hope to be in a position to announce the fixtures for this tour in the new year," Haroon Lorgat, CSA CEO said.

India visited South Africa in the year 2013-14. They had to slash down the number of matches because of scheduling of the matches. The Indian team played two test matches, three One day Internationals. India lost both the One day International and test series.

South Africa visited India for 5 One day Internationals, three T20 and four test matches in 2015. South Africa won the ODI and T20 series, while India defeated South Africa by 3-0.
India have been a roll since Virat Kohli took the captaincy. The real challenge for team India will come next year when they go to South Africa on fast and bouncy pitches which assist the fast bowlers.

If the four test matches happen, it will be a treat for the cricketing fans to see that if team India can improve their poor overseas record in the past 6 years.

  The defending Champions India registered a commanding win in the 2 nd semi-finals against South Korea of the Asian Champions Trophy 2024 played in Hulunbir, Inner Mongolia on 16 th September.   The defending Champions England qualified for the semi-finals with a thrashing of the USA in a must-win game played at Kensington Oval, Barbados on 23 rd June 2024. England captain Jos Buttler won the toss and decided to field first. Reece Topley struck in the first over dismissing Andries Gous with a simple catch to Salt.
