Predicted XI for India 1st ODI
India and England will face off in the first One day
international at Pune tomorrow. The Indian team will be captained by Virat
Kohli while England team would be looking create history. It promises to be a
mouthwatering clash as the pitch in Pune is expected to help the batsmen. Here
we look at the predicted XI for India in the first ODI.
1. 1. KL Rahul
KL Rahul would be coming back into the ODI squad after
missing the previous series against New Zealand. His ability to play aggressive
strokes makes him dangerous batsmen. He would be eager to make an impact at the
start of innings and help India to give a solid foundation.
2. 2. Rahane
The other opener Rahane had a great second warm up game
against England. He scored 91 runs and helped India A register a big win over
the visitors. As Anil Kumble said, Rahane would be coming into the top order
and would give solidity. If Rahane could play an aggressive game, then India
will be to post a big total.
3. 3. Virat Kohli
Virat Kohli was in the excellent form during 2016. Now with
the captaincy role, Kohli would be eager to take the charge and play with
aggressive mindset. It is important for the Indian team that Kohli scores big
runs and help India to win matches on his own.
4. 4. Yuvraj Singh
Yuvraj Singh would be making a comeback into the Indian
squad after a gap of 3 years. His performance in Ranji Trophy 2016/17 was
outstanding with two big scores. In the first warm up match he played with
aggressive attitude and smashed the England bowlers to all parts. If India gets
a good start, Yuvraj Singh would be an ideal player to put pressure on England
bowlers.
5. 5 MS Dhoni
After stepping down from captaincy, MS Dhoni would want to
bat higher according to team needs. He would play with more freedom and just
play his natural game. If MS Dhoni gets more overs to bat, then Indian team
would be benefited.
6. 6 Kedar Jadhav
Kedar Jadhav would be an ideal number 6. In the previous ODI
series against New Zealand, Kedar Jadhav did an excellent job with bowl picking
wickets in the middle overs. He also contributed with the bat also during that
series. Kedar Jadhav would be an ideal option with part time bowling and hard
hitting abilities.
7. 7 Ravichandran Ashwin
Ravichandran Ashwin would be making into team after missing
the ODI series against New Zealand. He played a key role in helping India to
whitewash England during the test series. In the middle overs, R Ashwin will
play an important role in picking wickets and also controlling the run flow
with top quality batting line up of England.
8. 8. Ravindra Jadeja
Ravindra Jadeja will be also making a comeback into ODI
squad after missing the ODI series against New Zealand. He and Ravichandran
Ashwin are important to India’s cause in the middle overs. Their ability to
bowl consistent line and lengths would make life tough for England batsmen. His
left arm spin bowling does not allow the batsmen to score runs easily.
9. 9 Jasprit Bumrah
Jasprit Bumrah has been the rising star for India. He made
his debut during 2016 and has provided early wickets. Bumrah also solved the
problem of death bowling with Yorkers and slow balls which makes life tough for
batsmen. If Bumrah could continue his excellent form and deliver goods in
tomorrow match then India would win the match.
110.
Bhvuneshwar Kumar
Bhuvneshwar Kumar would be second pace option for the first
ODI. He has the ability to swing the ball and cause trouble to the batsmen.
Kumar has not played an ODI for a while and could be an ideal pacer against
England openers.
111.
Umesh Yadav
Umesh Yadav bowled well during the ODI series against New
Zealand. He bowled with control and picked early wickets for India with wicket
taking deliveries. Umesh Yadav has pace and would do the damage in the first
ODI against England on a good batting pitch.
