dismissed in the 2nd session, Ashwin and Vihari played the whole last
session to help India escape a memorable draw.
Chasing down 329 runs on the final day of 4th
Test match at Brisbane, Pant started cautiously before taking the attack on
Australia bowlers. He hit the winning runs to remain not out 91 helping Team
India register a 3 wicket win and 2-1 series win over a strong Australian
bowling line-up.
He continued his remarkable form in the home Test series
against England. The Indian team looked in deep trouble with 73 for 4, Pant
took the attack to Leach and scored a counterattacking of 91 runs.
Pant made another significant contribution in the first
innings of the 2nd Test at Chennai. With India at 146 for 6, Pant
showed his maturity before taking on the England bowlers to score 101. He was
awarded the man of the match award. The explosive batsman Pant played knocks of
77 and 78 runs in the ODI series against England.
Under the captaincy of Iyer, Delhi Capitals reached their
maiden IPL finals last year. He became the youngest captain to feature in IPL
