The Indian and New
Zealand announced their 15-man squad for the inaugural edition of the ICC World
Test Championship finals to be played from 18th June at Ageas Bowl,

Both India and New Zealand have performed brilliantly in the
inaugural edition of the Test Championship started in August 2019. The Indian
Team won all their series at home defeating Bangladesh, South Africa, and
England. Their only loss came against New Zealand in New Zealand losing 0-2.
They performed brilliantly defeating West Indies away from home. After being bundled out for 36, under the captaincy of Rahane,
the Indian team registered a historic 2-1 win over a strong Australian side
especially at Gabba, Brisbane. Due to the coronavirus pandemic, the points system
was changed as it calculated based on percentage points. The Indian Team played a total of 17 series in the ICC Test Championship cycle including 9 away and 8 away.
On the other hand, the New Zealand Cricket Team also
performed brilliantly winning all their series at home defeating West Indies,
Pakistan. Due to the coronavirus pandemic, few series were not being played. Their only
defeat came against Australia away from home 0-3. The Kiwis team played a total of 13 series including 6 home and 7 away.
Before these finals, New Zealand Cricket had the advantages
of playing under England conditions. They created history by defeating England
side 1-0 after a gap of 22 years.
The ICC World Test Championship finals promise to be a mouth-watering
clash. After missing the 2nd Test due to an injury, Kane Williamson will
lead New Zealand.
