Indian women's to tour Australia announced

 The Indian selectors announced the squad for their big tour of Australia to be played from next month. It comprises of 3 ODIs, a one-off Test, and 3 T20Is.

All the top Indian players who participated in the Hundred tournament including Smriti Mandhana, Harmanpreet Kaur, Shafali Verma, Jemimah Rodrigues, Deepti Sharma has been included in both squads.

Yastika Bhatia and Renuka Singh Thakur have been included the 18-member squad. It promises to be a cracking tournament as the Indian team would be looking to make a mark against a strong Australian squad in their own den.

It looks like a strong squad as Mithali Raj will lead the Indian team in the one-off day-night Test and the ODI series. Smriti Mandhana, Shafali Verma, Punam Raut, Jemimah Rodrigues, Deepti Sharma, Harmanpreet Kaur comprise a good batting line-up.

Apart from this Sneha Rana, Deepti Sharma comprises the all-rounders. Shikha Pandey, Jhulan Goswami, Pooja Vastrakar comprise fast bowlers. Rajeshwari Gakywad makes a comeback into the Indian team after missing the England tour. Poonam Yadav, Ekta Bisht, Deepti Sharma, Sneha Rana comprise spinners.

Harmanpreet Kaur will lead the Indian team in the T20I squad. Renuka Singh Thakur and Yastika Bhatia has been included in this squad too. Richa Ghosh would be the wicketkeeper as Taniya Bhatia misses out.

The Indian Cricket Team played their first Test match in seven years against England resulting in a draw while lost both ODI and T20I series 2-1 respectively.

The Indian team will leave for Australia end of August and would serve 14 days quarantine. The Indian eves would play the first ODI on 19th September in Sydney before two games in Melbourne on 22nd and 24th September.

After 3 ODIs, the Indian eves would play historic day night Test match at WACA, Perth from 30th September to 3rd October before featuring in 3 T20Is on 7th, 9th, and 11th October in Sydney.

  The defending Champions India registered a commanding win in the 2 nd semi-finals against South Korea of the Asian Champions Trophy 2024 played in Hulunbir, Inner Mongolia on 16 th September. Indian team began the first quarter on a good note with Abhishek's reverse flick shot saved by Korean goalkeeper Kim Jahean. After the initial domination, a superb pass by Arijit with a goal by Uttam Singh in the 13 th minute to give India a 1-0 lead.   The defending Champions England qualified for the semi-finals with a thrashing of the USA in a must-win game played at Kensington Oval, Barbados on 23 rd June 2024. England captain Jos Buttler won the toss and decided to field first. Reece Topley struck in the first over dismissing Andries Gous with a simple catch to Salt.
