England announce their playing XI for first Test against South Africa

 Under the captaincy of Ben Stokes, England announced their XI for the first Test match against visiting South Africa to be played at the iconic Lords Cricket Ground, Lords starting from 3.30 IST onwards today.

England has been on a roll with 4 successive wins chasing down big targets against New Zealand and then chased down a record 378 runs against India to level the 5-match series at 2-2. It has been a remarkable transformation by the England Test team. They would be looking to continue their attacking style of play in the first match of the series against visiting South Africa.

It promises to be an exciting Test series with top-quality batters on each side. Joe Root and Jonny Bairstow have been in sensational form against New Zealand and India. The hosts would be looking to create an impact with another set of brilliant performances with both bat and ball gaining momentum for the rest of the 2 Test matches.

Ben Foakes makes a return to playing XI after recovering from COVID. It looks like a settled unit and hoping to see England show their skills against top-quality South African pace bowling.
