All you need to know about 2022 T20I series between India and Australia

 The defending Champions Australia will face India in a 3-match T20I series on Indian soil to be played from 20th September 2022. It promises to be an exciting series as both teams announced their squads for the prestigious T20I World Cup slated for next month.

India will be hurt as they failed to defend their Asia Cup title played in UAE. The Indian team announced a strong unit as Jasprit Bumrah and Harshal Patel made a return to the squad after recovering from injury. They would be looking to iron out their flaws before the prestigious tournament.

The Indian Cricket Team is the number 1 ranked T20I side in the world. They would be looking for their top players to return to form and gain confidence ahead of the prestigious World Cup.

On the other hand, Australia would be looking to shape up well with three of their main key players ruled out of the series due to injuries. It looks like a strong unit as they would be looking to show their skills in Indian conditions.

The Australian team were dealt a major blow as Mitchell Starc, Mitchell Marsh, and Marcus Stoinis were ruled out of the series. Sean Abbott, Nathan Ellis, and Daniel Sams replaced the trio.

Asia Champions Trophy 2024: India Enters Finals With Commanding Win

  The defending Champions India registered a commanding win in the 2 nd semi-finals against South Korea of the Asian Champions Trophy 2024 played in Hulunbir, Inner Mongolia on 16 th September. Indian team began the first quarter on a good note with Abhishek's reverse flick shot saved by Korean goalkeeper Kim Jahean. After the initial domination, a superb pass by Arijit with a goal by Uttam Singh in the 13 th minute to give India a 1-0 lead. Soon after, Korea’s two penalty corners before the third penalty corner as the shot hits Sumit’s body.   At the end of the first quarter, India led 1-0.   The defending Champions England qualified for the semi-finals with a thrashing of the USA in a must-win game played at Kensington Oval, Barbados on 23 rd June 2024. England captain Jos Buttler won the toss and decided to field first. Reece Topley struck in the first over dismissing Andries Gous with a simple catch to Salt. Nitish Kumar and Steve Taylor steadied the ship for the USA. Sam Curran dismissed Steve Taylor caught by Moeen Ali. Taylor and Nitish Kumar added 34 runs for the 2 nd wicket.
