India versus Australia 3rd T20I: India clinch series with a thrilling win

 The Indian Cricket team defeated World Champion Australia in the 3rd and deciding T20I match played at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Hyderabad on Sunday.

Indian captain Rohit Sharma won the toss and decided to field first. Cameron Green looked in great touch right from word go putting pressure on the opening bowlers. Axar Patel's impressive series continues as he was dismissed by Australian captain Aaron Finch with a simple catch to Hardik Pandya. Cameron Green and Aaron Finch added 44 runs in quick time laying a strong foundation for a big total. Finch made just 7 runs. Green maintained his hitting abilities as he completed fifty off just 19 balls to keep the scoreboard ticking.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar eventually got rid of dangerous Cameron Green caught by KL Rahul. A superb throw by Axar Patel ran out Glenn Maxwell to leave Australia on the back foot. Yuzvendra Chahal then produced lovely delivery getting rid of Steve Smith with stumping by Dinesh Karthik. Josh Inglis joined in with Tim David not allowing the Indian bowlers to settle. Axar got rid of Inglis providing an easy catch to Rohit Sharma leaving Australia in some trouble. Inglis and David added 31 runs for the 5th wicket.

Axar Patel got his 3rd wicket getting rid of dangerous Matthew Wade with a sharp return catch to leave Australia struggling. Tim David and Sams looked in an attacking mood smashing the Indian bowlers all over the park. Both Australian batters smashed 21 runs off Bhuvneshwar Kumar in the 18th over. David completed fifty off 25 balls. Harshal Patel deceived David by providing an easy catch to Rohit Sharma. David and Sams added 68 runs for the 7th wicket. At the end of 20 overs, Australia posted 186 for 7 in 20 overs.

Chasing 187 runs to win, it was not an ideal start for the Indian team as KL Rahul went in the first over itself. Rohit Sharma showed intent right from word go maintaining pressure on Australian bowlers. He fell trying to hit a big shot providing an easy catch to Sams. Virat Kohli and Surya Kumar Yadav looked in sensational touch putting enough pressure on Australian bowlers. At the end of the first six overs, India scored 50 for 2.

After the field restrictions, Surya and Kohli kept the momentum going for India with big shots against spinners and pacers. Both Indian batters looked at ease not allowing the run rate to climb up. Surya Kumar completed fifty off just 29 balls. It was an expectational batting effort by Surya who played aggressive shots against Hazlewood. Hazlewood provided a much-needed breakthrough for Australia dismissing Surya with a simple catch to Finch at long-off. Surya and Kohli added 104 runs for the 3rd wicket.

Virat Kohli showed his aggressive intent completing fifty off 37 balls. Hardik Pandya struggled with timing. Sams got rid of Kohli with a good catch by Finch at extra cover. Kohli and Pandya added 48 runs for the 4th wicket. Hardik Pandya hit the winning runs with a boundary to help the Indian team register 6 wickets win.

India 187 for 4 in 19.5 overs ( Surya Kumar Yadav 69, Kohli 63, Sams 2/33) beat Australia 186 for 7 in 20 overs ( Tim David 54, Green 52, Axar Patel 3/33) by 6 wickets.

For his 69 off 36 balls with 5 fours and 5 sixes, Surya Kumar Yadav was named the man of the match award. For his consistent performance with the ball, Axar Patel was named man of the series award. With this win, India takes the 3-match T20I series 2-1.
