India Open 2024: HS Prannoy, Satwik/Chirag enters quarterfinals.

 India’s top shuttlers HS Prannoy and Satwik/Chirag Shetty progressed into the quarterfinals of the Super 750 India Open with contrasting wins at KD Jadhav Indoor Stadium, New Delhi on 18th January 2024.

HS Prannoy defeated Indian counterpart Pranshu Rajawat in three thrilling games. The first game was a closely fought encounter as both players fought for each point before Rajawat held onto his nerves to win the first game 22-20. Prannoy then showed his class with some lovely badminton winning the next two games at 21-14, and 21-14 to win the match in straight games.

It was an impressive performance by Prannoy who held onto his nerves after losing the first game. He will now face Wang T W of Chinese Taipei in the quarterfinals.

The 2nd ranked Indian pairing of Satwik/Chirag Shetty defeated Lu C Y and Yang P Ha of Chinese Taipei. It was an impressive performance by Satwik and Chirag keeping pressure on the opponents winning the first game comfortably at 21-14.

The second game saw both pairs beginning on an even keel before Satwik and Chirag showed their domination winning it 21-15 to move into the quarterfinals. They would now face Kim Astrup and Rasmussen of Denmark tomorrow.
