Pak vs Bang 1st Test Day 4: Bangladesh In Great Position To Win
Bangladesh
batters put on an excellent display of batting against Pakistan bowling that put
them in a commanding 4th day of the 1st test match played
at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium, Rawalpindi on 24th August 2024.
Starting on
the overnight score of 316 for 5, Bangladesh suffered an early loss as Liton
Das was dismissed with a peach by Naseem Shah. Das and Rahim added 114 runs for
the 6th wicket. Mushfiqur Rahim looked solid with his defensive technique
along with Mehidy Hasan Miraz. Both ensured that Bangladesh went into the lunch
break in a strong position at 389 for 6. During the session, Rahim completed his
century off 200 deliveries.
After the
lunch break, Rahim and Mehidy Hasan Miraz showed great composure keeping the
scoreboard ticking against tired Pakistan bowlers. The Pakistan fielding was
not great as Babar Azam dropped an easy chance. Rahim completed 150 off 286
deliveries keeping Pakistani bowlers at bay. Mehidy Hasan Miraz also reached a half-century
from 120 balls. Bangladesh went into the tea break in a commanding position at
495 for 6.
Mohammad
Ali eventually got the breakthrough dismissing Rahim for well-made 191. Rahim
and Miraz put on 196 runs for the 7th wicket. Shoriful Islam added a
quickfire cameo along with Miraz 77. Shaheen Shah Afridi and Naseem did the job
by bundling out Bangladesh for 565 with a lead of 117 runs. It was a superb
batting display by Bangladesh batters.
In reply,
Pakistan got off to a worst possible start losing an early wicket of Saim Ayub.
Shan Masood survived a few anxious moments while Abdullah Shafique looked confident
with his defense. Shoriful Islam &Hasan Mahmud troubled the Pakistan batters.

and Shafique ensured that Pakistan did not lose any more wickets. At the end of
day 4, Pakistan finished on 23 for 1 with a trail by 94 runs.
