WPL 2025 Match 4: Top 3 Performers For RCB In Dominating Win Over DC
Royal
Challengers Bengaluru registered a dominating 8-wicket win over Delhi Capitals
in a repeat of last year’s finals played at Kotambi Stadium, Vadodara on 17th
February 2025.
After
opting to field first, RCB produced a dominating bowling performance bundling
Delhi Capitals out for 141 in 19.3 overs. Apart from Jemimah Rodrigues and Lanning’s
59-run partnership, RCB bowlers did not allow any partnership to grow taking
wickets at regular intervals.
Chasing
down this modest target, Smriti Mandhana and Dani Wyatt put enough pressure on
the DC bowlers putting on a century stand that ensured that RCB chased down the
target with ease in 16.2 overs. Richa Ghosh finished off the job with six
helping RCB consolidate its top spot.
Here we
look at the Top 3 performers for RCB in dominating win over Delhi Capitals
during match 4 of WPL 2025
1. Renuka Singh
Renuka
Singh stood out once again in yesterday’s match against Delhi Capitals. It was
an ideal start for RCB as Singh got rid of dangerous Shafali Varma in the very
first over with a simple catch to Mandhana at mid-off.
She bowled
with great control not allowing Delhi Capitals batters to score runs easily. Renuka
took an important wicket of Annabel Sutherland, denting their chances of
posting a good total. The star pace bowler took the wicket of Shikha Pandey in
her last over. Renuka ended with magical figures of 3 for 23 in 4 overs that
made sure RCB restricted Delhi Capitals to a below-par total.
Renuka
Singh had a great outing in the first match against Gujarat Giants with 2 for
25 in 4 overs. For her 3 for 23 in 4 overs, Renuka was named the player of the
match award.
2. Georgia Wareham
Australian
spinner Georgia Wareham also contributed to the team’s success. She struck in her
first over dismissing Jemimah Rodrigues with a quick stumping by Richa Ghosh.
Rodrigues and Lanning added 59 runs for the 2nd wicket.
Georgia did
not allow Delhi batters to score runs easily. She was at her lethal best during
her spell keeping a choke on opponent batters. The leg-spinner struck twice in
the same over dismissing Sarah Bryce and Radha Yadav. It was a disciplined bowling
performance by Wareham after a disappointing outing in the first match against
Gujarat Giants.
Wareham ended
with figures of 3 for 25 making sure that RCB does not allow Delhi Capitals to
score a big total.
3. Smriti Mandhana
Chasing down
142 runs to win, RCB captain Smriti Mandhana led from the front with a captain’s
knock. She showed intent right from the word go putting enough pressure on
Delhi Capitals bowlers.
Mandhana
timed the ball brilliantly keeping the scoreboard ticking along with Wyatt. After
a superb first six overs, Mandhana continued to milk the bowlers and hit
attacking shots. She scored fifty off just 27 deliveries, ensuring that RCB put
on an excellent display.
The star RCB
batter, could not finish the job dismissed caught at short fine leg by Arundhati
Reddy. She scored 81 off 47 deliveries with 10 fours and 3 sixes. Mandhana and
Wyatt put on 107 runs for the opening wicket.
Smriti Mandhana leads from the front with 81 leading RCB for the second successive win in WPL 2025
