China Masters 2025: Satwik/Chirag Finishes Runners-Up

The Indian men’s doubles pair of Satwiksairaj RankiReddy and Chirag Shetty dream run ended as they finished runners-up with a straight game loss to current World champions Kim Won Ho and Seo Seung Jae of South Korea played of the Super 750 China Masters played at Shenzhen, China on 21st September 2025.

Both pairs began the first game on an even keel before the Indian pairing stepped up their style of play putting the Korean under pressure. Satwik/Chirag showed their class to take a commanding 11-7 lead at the break. After the interval, the Indian pairing looked good before Kim and Seo fought back strongly from 7-14 down, they put on excellent display of badminton to come 1 point close.

The match ebbed and flowed with both pairs fighting for each point till 19-19. South Korean pair showed their class as they defended brilliantly to win the first game at 21-19.

Both pairs began the second game on an even keel till 6-6. Satwik/Chirag took 3 points in succession before Kim and Seo played attacking badminton to level the scores at 9-9. Kim and Seo showed courage to take a slender 11-10 lead. After the break, Satwik/Chirag committed few errors and South Korean pair made life tough for the Indians.

Kim and Seo kept piling pressure on the South Koreans to win the 2nd game comfortably by 21-15. Satwik/Chirag played brilliant badminton in this week 750 China Masters but fell short of the mark in the finals. This was Satwik/Chirag second successive finals in two weeks.

Satwik/Chirag has been in excellent form and they will not take part in the Korea Masters tournament.

In other finals today, An Se Young produced a dominating performance winning against Han Yue with a scoreline of 21-11, 21-3.

Weng Hongyang defeated Lin Chun Yi of Chinese Taipei in the men’s singles to become the champions in straight games win by 21-11, 21-15.

The women’s doubles section saw Jia Yifan and Zhang Shuxian defeat Kim Hye Jeong and Kong Hee Yong of South Korea in three thrilling games by 21-19, 16-21, 21-13.

Dechapol Puvaruanukroh and Supissara Paewsamparn defeated Cheng Wang Tie and Toh Ee Wei in straight games during the mixed doubles section with scoreline of 21-8, 21-17.

5.      Dechapol Puvaruanukroh and Supissara Paewsamparn defeated Cheng Wang Tie & Toh Ee Wei (Mixed Doubles)- 21-8, 21-17.

ICC Women’s World T20: India to meet Australia in the finals

The Indian Women’s Cricket reached their maiden T20 World finals after the first semi-finals against England was abandoned due to rain played at Sydney Cricket Ground, SCG on Thursday. Harmanpreet Kaur led side finished top of Pool A winning all their matches. It is a great achievement for the Indian women’s team as they performed brilliantly in the league stages. India started the group stunning the defending Champions Australia by 17 runs in the opening match played at Sydney Showground Stadium, Sydney on 21 st February.   The Indian shuttlers had a disappointing outing as only one of them made it into the quarterfinals of the Super 1000 Malaysia Open 2025 played at Axiata Arena, Kuala Lumpur on 9 th January. HS Prannoy, women’s doubles pair of Tressa Jolly suffered narrow losses while Bansod, mixed doubles pair of Crasto/Kapila, and other pair lost in a one-sided affair.
