Hero Men’s Asia Cup 2025 Super 4 Stage: India Register Resounding Win Over China To Qualify for the finals

The Indian men’s hockey team registered an emphatic 7-0 win over China in the final Super 4 stage game played at Rajgir Sports Complex, Rajgir on 6th September 2025.

Right from the word go, the Indian team put on a dominating display. Harmanpreet Singh pass to Jarmanpreet Singh and tap by Shailand Lakra in the 4th minute gave India 1-0 lead. India was awarded a penalty corner which was converted by Dilpreet Singh via a rebound shot in the 7th minute to make it 2-0. Indian team kept putting enough pressure on the Chinese defence not allowing any chances.

It was a great start for the Indian team in the 2nd quarter with their 2nd penalty corner. Harmanpreet Singh shot was well blocked before Mandeep Singh converted in the 18th minute to continue India’s domination at 3-0. The Indian team kept pressure but Chinese defence denied them any more goals. At the end of the first half, India led 3-0. India dominated the circle penetrations with 9 while China entered India’s circle only once.

The third quarter continued the same way with Indian team putting consistent pressure. Rajkumar Pal tapped in shot during 37th minute to make it 4-0. After penalty corner was well saved by rusher, India earned long corner before Sukhjeet Singh hit shot on the ground and scored the goal in the 39th minute to continue the domination. India puts on an excellent display with 5-0 lead at the end of third quarter.

India continued their domination in the fourth quarter also. Great Dribbling skill by Sukhjeet Singh as Abhishek scored an easy goal in the 46th minute leaving the hosts with a dominating 6-0 lead. Abhishek produced another superb goal with a reverse shot which left goalkeeper stunned in the 50th minute.

It was a really dominating performance by the Indian team as they thrash China by 7-0 and enter the finals of Asia Cup 2025.

India had 19 circle penetrations while China had 4 of them. The hosts converted 2 out of 3 penalty corners while China did not get any.

The hosts India will face South Korea in the finals tomorrow. Winner of this match will qualify for the 2026 World Cup to be played in Belgium and Netherlands.

ICC Women’s World T20: India to meet Australia in the finals

The Indian Women’s Cricket reached their maiden T20 World finals after the first semi-finals against England was abandoned due to rain played at Sydney Cricket Ground, SCG on Thursday. Harmanpreet Kaur led side finished top of Pool A winning all their matches. It is a great achievement for the Indian women’s team as they performed brilliantly in the league stages. India started the group stunning the defending Champions Australia by 17 runs in the opening match played at Sydney Showground Stadium, Sydney on 21 st February. After their win against Australia, they defeated Bangladesh by 18 runs on 24 th at WACA Stadium, Perth.   The Indian shuttlers had a disappointing outing as only one of them made it into the quarterfinals of the Super 1000 Malaysia Open 2025 played at Axiata Arena, Kuala Lumpur on 9 th January. HS Prannoy, women’s doubles pair of Tressa Jolly suffered narrow losses while Bansod, mixed doubles pair of Crasto/Kapila, and other pair lost in a one-sided affair.
