Hong Kong Open Badminton 2025: Satwik/Chirag, Lakshya Sen Enter Semi-Finals

It was a good outing for the Indian shuttlers as Satwik/Chirag Shetty, Lakshya Sen progressed into semi-finals of the Super 500 Hong Kong Open played on 12th September 2025.

The men’s doubles pairing of Satwik/Chirag Shetty entered into the semi-finals with a three-game win over J Arif and Yap Roy King of Malaysia. Both pairs started on an even keel with alternate points till 5-5. Satwik/Chirag showed their class putting Arif and Roy under pressure with smashes. Roy and Arif fought back strongly to take 5 points in succession to take a slender 11-10 at the break. After the interval, the Indian pairing looked in great touch making sure that they don’t allow more points winning first game comfortably at 21-14.

Malaysians found their range and kept the Indian under pressure with flat exchanges. At the mid-game break, Roy and Arif led 11-8. After the break, Malaysians showed their class keeping Indian pairing under pressure. Satwik/Chirag fought back strongly to save 4 match points make it at 20-20 before Roy and Arif won the second game at 22-20.

Satwik/Chirag increased their tempo with smashes and not allowing any chances for the Malaysian opponent to comeback into the game. At the mid-game break, the Indian pair had a dominating lead. After the interval, Satwik/Chirag continued to maintain lead and won with 21-16 scoreline. They will now unseeded Chen Cheng Kuan and Ling Bing Wei of Chinese Taipei.

Lakshya Sen defeated his compatriot Ayush Shetty in three exciting games. The first game was a closely fought affair with both players fighting for each point. Ayush Shetty held onto his nerves to win the first game by 21-16.

Both players fought for each point in the 2nd game also. Lakshya Sen looked in trouble trailing 15-16 down took six points successively to win second game at 21-17.

Lakshya Sen upped his game in the decider game and did not give any chances to his opponent to win it easily by 21-13 to move into the semi-finals. He will face the winner of Chou Tien Chen and Alwi Farhan.

These days the Kabaddi World Cup in which India won gold medal made the country proud., but the audiences in India are were able to see the matches but the scores are there in Facebook which shows that that this sport needs backing of the government and also some sponsorship so that this game gains popularity. Friends in the new college

The new college in which I am studying that is Indria Gandhi National open university(IGNOU) has been a great exprience for me as I have made 4 to 5 good friends with whom i go around these days. When I go to college i pick up them and also come with them in a metro. Sheeba, Prachi, Radhika and Sourabh and also other are my good friends.
