Arctic Open 2025: Indian Youngster Creates History
Anmol Kharb
proved worth reaching her maiden semi-finals of Super 500 event with a
comfortable win over Schulz of Denmark at the Super 500 Arctic Open 2025 played
at Finland on 10th October.
Anmol Kharb
entered into the quarterfinals with an impressive win over Hsu WC of Chinese
Taipei in three thrilling games. Kharb lost the first set at 18-21 before
making a strong comeback to win the next two games at 21-18, 21-17.
Kharb continued
her superb in the quarterfinals with a straight game win over A Schulz of Denmark.
It was an impressive by Indian youngster putting on excellent display not
allowing any chances for her opponent. She looked dominating right from the
word go in the first set making life tough before winning the first set at
21-15.
The second
game saw Kharb continued her domination over Schulz with smashes and drop shots
to win it comfortably at 21-14 to move into the semi-finals. She will have a
tough ask as she will face number 1 seeded Akane Yamaguchi of Japan tomorrow.
The mixed
doubles section saw Dhruv Kapila/Tanisha Crasto suffer straight game loss to
number 1 ranked Chinese seed of Jiang ZB and Wei YX. It was a disappointing
performance by the Indian pairing as they were no match to top seeded losing by
7-21, 10-21.
Anmol Kharb
started the tournament with a stunning win over 21st ranked Lin HT
of Chinese Taipei. It promises to be a good contest and Kharb would be step up
the game against Yamaguchi.
Lakshya Sen,
Kiran George, S Subramanian suffered losses in the first round while Tarun Mannellapli
stunned Tomas Junior Popov in three games by 11-21, 21-11, 22-20.
