Hylo Open 2025: Great Performance By Indian Shuttlers

 

The Indian shuttlers had a great outing with 5 of them entering into the quarterfinals of the Super 500 Hylo Open 2025 played in Germany on 30th October.

Lakshya Sen defeated S Subramanian in an all Indian second round match. It was a dominating performance by Sen right from the word go putting pressure on his opponent to win by 21-14, 21-11 to move into quarterfinals. It was a dominating performance by Sen who looked in complete control and made sure that he won the match easily. He will face 4th seeded Alex Lanier in the quarterfinals

Ayush Shetty stunned former World Champion Loh Kiean Yew of Singapore in two straight games. It was a dominating performance by Ayush proving too strong for his opponent winning with scoreline of 21-11, 21-11. He looked in complete control and never allowed a chance. Ayush will face K Kolinjonen of Finland.

Kiran George stunned 8th seeded Toma Junior Popov of France in three thrilling games. The first game was a closely fought affair with both players fighting for each point before Popov held onto his nerves to win first game by 21-18.

The second game was another closely fought affair as both players fought for each point, but this time around Kiran won with 21-18 scoreline. It was a great effort by both players in the 3rd and deciding game, but the Indian held onto his nerves to win with 21-19 scoreline to enter into the quarterfinals. He will face Jonathan Christie in the quarterfinals.

The women’s section saw Unnati Hooda producing a dominating performance defeating J Jackobsen of Denmark in straight games. Hooda dominated the first game winning with comfortable scoreline of 21-9. The second game was much closely fought affair before Hooda won it by 21-18 to move into the quarterfinals. She will face Lin H-t of Chinese Taipei.

Santosh Ramraj defeated Shriyanshi Valishetty in three games. The first game was a closely fought affair before Valishetty won the first game by 21-19. Ramraj fought back strongly dominating her opponent winning next two games with scoreline of 21-8, 21-13 to move into the quarterfinals. She will face L Christophen of Denmark in the quarterfinals.

It was curtains for Rohan Kapoor/Shivani Gadde as they went down to Mathais Christiansen and Alexandra Boje in two straight games. Indian pair struggled right from the word go losing by 16-21, 11-21.

3.      Kiran George defeated Toma Junior Popov (Men’s Singles)- 18-21, 21-18, 21-19

4.      Unnati Hooda defeated J Jackobsen (Women’s Singles)- 21-9, 21-18

5.      Santosh Ramraj defeated Shriyanshi Valishetty (Women’s Singles)- 19-21, 21-8, 21-13.

6.      Rohan Kapoor/Shivani Gadde lost to Mathais Christiansen/Alexandra Boje (Mixed Doubles)- 16-21, 11-21.

 


 Lakshya Sen, Ayush Shetty, Kiran George enter quarterfinals of Super 500 Hylo Open 2025.
