Japan Masters 2025: Lakshya Sen beat Loh Kiean Yew to enter semi-finals
The rising
Indian shuttler Lakshya Sen cruised past former champion Loh Kiean Yew of
Singapore in two straight games during quarterfinals of the Super 500 Japan Masters
played at Kumamoto, Japan on 14th November 2025.
Loh Kiean Yew
began the first game on a positive note with attacking shots and put pressure
on Lakshya Sen. However, the Indian star showed class making a strong comeback not
allowing any chances for his opponent. At the mid-game break, Sen had 11-8
lead. After the break, Sen took six successive points in succession before
winning the first game easily at 21-13.
The second
game also saw Loh Kiean Yew making a good start keeping pressure on Sen with
9-7 lead. After this, the Indian showed class with eight successive points in
succession to gain control in this match.
Loh made a
strong comeback reducing the gap to 17-18. Sen looked in great to win three
points in succession to win second game and match at 21-17 to move into the
semi-finals.
This will
Sen’s third semi-finals appearance of 2025. He made into the finals of Hong
Kong Open 2025 in September and semi-finals of Macau Open in August.
Sen will
face Kenta Nishimoto in the semi-finals tomorrow while Kodai Naraoka will take
on Wang Tzu Wei of Chinese Taipei during other top four match.
Sen would be
looking to continue his amazing form in Japan Masters 2025 and hope to reach
his 2nd finals this year.
