French Open 2024 Quarterfinals: Lakshya Sen And Doubles Pair progress into the semi-finals
It was a
superb outing as Lakshya Sen and the men’s doubles pair qualified for the
semi-finals with contrasting wins in the Super 750 French Open played in Paris
on 8th March 2024.

Shetty dominated as they won in two straight games against Thailand pair Jomkoh
and Kedren. The first game was a closely fought encounter before Satwik/Chirag
won the first game by 21-19. Indian pairing looked in complete control with
their shots and won it easily by 21-13 to move into the semi-finals. They will
face the Korean pair of Kang Min Hyuk and Seo.
Lakshya Sen
fought I hard in three sets to defeat Loh Kiean Yew of Singapore. The first
game was a closely fought affair with both players fighting for each point. Loh
won it by 21-19 scoreline.
The second
game saw Lakshya Sen producing a dominating display of play putting the
Singapore player under pressure. Sen won the second game by a 21-15 scoreline. Sen
came up with another superb display of badminton, winning the decider with a 21-13
scoreline to move into the semi-finals. He will face Kulvant Vitisdarn of
Thailand.
It was
heartbreak for Sindhu as she lost to Olympic Champion, Chen Yufei in three grueling
games. Both players fought for each point in the first game till the end before
Sindhu held onto her nerves to win it by 24-22.
The second
game was another closely fought affair, but this time Chen showed fighting
spirit to win it by 21-17 to force it into the decider. Both players showed
their class in the third and deciding encounter. It ebbed and flowed but Chen
held onto nerves winning it by 21-18 to move into the semi-finals.
It has been
a tremendous performance by Sen who played great badminton winning against Li
Shifeng in the second round and also produced a superb performance against Loh.
