End of dissapointing year 2012 for indian team

In the year 2012 for the Indian cricket team which has won the cricket world cup in 2011 the  performance in 2012 has been a not great one in either of format. In tests india had played nine winning 3 losing 5 and drawing 1. The biggest disappoinment was when the Indian team lost the English team in India which is considered to the plus point for the team, they lost a series after 8 years. The year saw the retirement of the greats like Laxman, Dravid and the master blaster who retired from the ODI cricket. The biggest problem that the Indians had that the big players and team was not able to perform as a unit. The batting was not up to mark and bowling was not to that class of South Africans who has Dale Steyn, Morkel, Philander and Imran Tahir. That is why the Indian team is at number 5th. At one stage the team was on the number 1 rank.

In the ODI there were some individual brilliance like Kohli who scored 183 against Pakistan in the Asia Cup but did not qualify for the finals and in Australia when Indian needed to around 320 in 40 over kohli made a fanastic 136 to chase down the target in 36.4 overs but also did not qualify in the Commonwealth bank tri series. In this year Sachin completed 100th century in international cricket which is a great achievement.

In the shortest format of the cricket that T-20 the team did not reach the semi finals of ICC cricket world cup held in Sri LANKA in September. Because of one bad match in super eight stages against the Aussies which india lost by 9 wickets affected their run rate. Despite winning their last match against south africa they had to ensure that they must win the match by big margin and Pakistan defeating Aussies. Before that India lost to New Zeleand by 1 run which they should have won, also against England in 2 ND T-20 in Mumbai after winning the 1st one in Pune they scored 178 but their bowlers were not able to defend it. Finally the when Pakistan came the team lost the 1st one by 5 wickets and bounced back in 2nd one to level the series 1-1.

Lets hope that 2013 should bring joy to people and hope that India can win the Champions trophy to be held in England , also can avenge their defeat against the Aussies and their big test is agaisnst the South Africans in their own Backyard.
