Why Indian archers champions not given right treatment
For the past 1 or 2 months apart from other games the Indian women archers have done a lot hardwork and dedication with limited resources and no modern equipments has done the country proud by defeating the mighty Chinese and also South Korean's in the world cup which is a great achievement for these young Indian players. Deepika Kumari who is a 19 year old girl and other 2 should focus on teaching the young children on how to play the game and become successful players at international level. I feel very proud to see these young players to perform so well other than cricket winning gold medals at international level with top class teams is not an easy task in India where cricket dominates in all media.
As a sports lover i would love to see in India the both Indian men and women archers get equal backing from the archery association as compared to other countries like germany, China their government backs their players and respect their achievements. The grass root level system of archery in India is not good which needs improvement. The biggest question remains why not any officials from archery association did not go the IGI airport to receive the gold medalist.
I think the way they were treated was very sad and disappointing that when i saw the news today it looked so disgusted that what they have done for the country winning gold medal and not receiving the right welcome as compared to cricket. I think that the game which needs a lot of concentration the youngsters are not interested in this game and watch this game on the Television.
This state of archery is not good for these players as their effort and hardwork does not pay off , give the right guidance and direction to work with. The cash provided to them should increase by investing on the latest technology and arrows, right and big grounds to practice and become much more professional players. I feel pitty that despite getting gold medal for the country and with proper infrastructure the status of this game in India can improve if the government gives the right conditions like other games which include cricket mainly and nowdays badminton.
The Archery association of India must make sure that every state must have proper grounds to practice and must be given enough money which would motivate them to take interest in this game. I think they should go to foreign grounds and practice hard, govt must back them, tell them how the other countries train, learn skills from them, how to tackle pressure. The situation of the sports must improve as quickly as possible and the govt of India must make best arrangements and give the knowledge to the audiences about the game and see to that the game gains popularity in India. I think Deepika kumari cried today was real shame that such treatment are given to these champions. This shows that with Indian Olympic commitee could contribute to success to this and make sure from next time onward this embarrassment does not happen again.
