Brillant performance by young Indian hockey team
The Indian young hockey players came has done the country proud by winning this tournament.They played brilliantly. The Sultan Johar Cup which is a under 21 tournament was an example where the players performed brilliantly and team defeated the top 5 teams . They only conceded 7 goals in the whole tournament. The starting was very much sluggish defeating England 2-1 , then Argentina 3-2 and then after that the team got together and deserved the trophy. The likes of Manpreet Singh, Ramandeep Singh, Kothajit Singh and other young players have done well in the world stage. The passing was great, agility was wonderful but come the world cup they need to more determined
I think India can do well in the coming Junior World Cup to held in Delhi from December. The likes of Uthappa, Akashdeep Singh, and other young players must improve on the weakness. The coach Gregg Clerk deserves a thumbs up to give them a chance and giving them tips. The pre camp before the tournament was important and has done wonders. The Indian team must focus on the converting the penalty corner and if they can work on that they have good chance of winning the Junior World Cup. The crowd backing will be important as playing on home ground is a big advantge.
As an Indian fan this win will create a confidence in the players and bonding between players.In the World Cup strong teams like Australia, Newzeland, Argentina, Korea, Belguim will compete.The experience they got in this tournament will head them in good mindset and hope that this team can do very well.
In this tournament the crowds were great when the Malaysian team played and to win this tournament after coming up runners up last year is good achievement.
This win will make the people happy and shows that if the team plays with the talent they posses they can beat any team. In this tournament all other teams have looked out of sorts.
I think the next 2 months is important as they must go to foreign places and play matches against the top teams. When the world cup begins the focus only focus should be to win the world cup.
The captian Manpreet Singh, Ramandeep Singh who had played in Asia Cup where India finished 2nd. The goals scoring capacity and the techinque they use was an brilliant example.
It is good to see that the players are getting cash prize of RS 1 lakh and 50 thousand for support staff. Because of Hockey India league the young players from India are getting better each day and i am hopeful that India can bring back the glory that hockey was.
The men's senior hockey team has entered into the world cup and hope that they can do well in prestigious tournament. The women's team missed the berth to come into the world cup but their main problem was the fitness.
