India loses its best oppounrity to become 5th in the World

India ended their campaign in the World hockey league final by losing to the Belgium 2--1. The Indians were leading 1-0 before the red lions scored twice. The youngsters in the Indian team have learnt a lot from this tournament and they have shown that if the preparations are good enough the young team can beat anybody. In the first two matches of the group stages the Indian did not perform well but after that the Indian team have shown improvement by drawing the match against the Germans. Mandeep Singh has been standout person who have shown promise but the Indians need to built stamina and strength to competite against the strong team like Australia, Holland, England and other strong teams. The only postitive point for the Indians that they deafeated the olympic champions German 5-4.

In today match India were on course on securing 5th place but Belguim showed that why they are a tough team to beat. The coach of Indian team Terry Walsh can be pleased with effort of the players but they need work on the weakness and inability of  Indian team to defend goals at the dying minutes. As the tournament progressed there was some attaractive play from the team.India can take solace that the crowd support has been great and they take the confidence into the coming tournaments which can change the scenario of Indian hockey.

The teams which participated in the tournament are physically stronger than the Indian team and also considered much physically built. The main aim of this team is to get ready for main tournaments. The 6th position in this tournament shows that Indian team has potential but it needs to consistent to challenge the top teams in the world. The Indian hockey team has decided to skip the Azlan Shah tournament becuase to get acclimatized to the conditions to be countered at the World Cup in Hague.  

When the Indian team plays good they can create chances

Asia Champions Trophy 2024: India Enters Finals With Commanding Win

  The defending Champions India registered a commanding win in the 2 nd semi-finals against South Korea of the Asian Champions Trophy 2024 played in Hulunbir, Inner Mongolia on 16 th September. Indian team began the first quarter on a good note with Abhishek's reverse flick shot saved by Korean goalkeeper Kim Jahean. After the initial domination, a superb pass by Arijit with a goal by Uttam Singh in the 13 th minute to give India a 1-0 lead. Soon after, Korea’s two penalty corners before the third penalty corner as the shot hits Sumit’s body.   At the end of the first quarter, India led 1-0.   The defending Champions England qualified for the semi-finals with a thrashing of the USA in a must-win game played at Kensington Oval, Barbados on 23 rd June 2024. England captain Jos Buttler won the toss and decided to field first. Reece Topley struck in the first over dismissing Andries Gous with a simple catch to Salt. Nitish Kumar and Steve Taylor steadied the ship for the USA. Sam Curran dismissed Steve Taylor caught by Moeen Ali. Taylor and Nitish Kumar added 34 runs for the 2 nd wicket. It was a disciplined bowling effort by the England bowlers as they kept picking wickets at regular intervals. Sam Curran struck to dismiss Harmeet Singh.
