India beat Korea to finish 9th in Hockey World Cup

The Indian hockey team beat Korea 3-0 to finish 9th in the Hockey World Cup at Kycorea Stadium at Hague today. The first goal of this game came from Akashdeep Singh in the 6th minute to give India a 1-0 lead. After that there was no goal in the first half. Again penalty corners was problem for India at there were not able to convert and thread the goalkeeper. Both team tried their best to put goals.

The second half saw two goals from the Indian team, one from Rupinder Pal Singh from a penalty stroke and the next one from Akashdeep Singh to seal the match. The Koreans were not at their best and the main problem was ability to penetrate the Indian goalkeeper P Srjeesh. This tournament showed that India needs to improve their penalty corners conversion and passing needs to improved a little much better and to save energy at the end to not concede late goals.

The Indian coach terry Walsh must know the abilities of each player and plan much better for the upcoming Asian Games and Commonwealth Games. These two will give an idea of how much India has improved and needs to recognize each other skills and create an atmosphere for the players for betterment of Indian Hockey.

In this tournament from the Indian point of view Akashdeep Singh, Mandeep Singh, P Sreejesh, has been outstanding and if they had grab all the chances they would played for the top 8 spots which have would a decent. I
