Saina Nehwal tames Chinese champion to reach finals
In a epic three sets the Indian sensation defeated the top rank seed Chinese Wang X Shixan 21-19, 14-21, 21-16 to reach the finals of the 2014 Australian open badmination championship. It was a grueling match as both the players played some long rallies in the match. Saina Nehwal in first set played some nice drop shots, her net shots was ok, the Chinese committed a lot mistakes in the first which Saina Nehwal took advantage of and won the first set 21-19.
At one point of time in the second set Saina was leading but the Chinese played some wonderful strokes at the net which did not allow the Indians to come back in the game. The Indian player was having some trouble with her both finger of her but played on the game and when she came back to field the scoreboard showed 18-14 but Chinese showed the sportsmanship and did not allow the point, the scorecard then showed 17-14 . There was some long rallies in the second set. The Chinese played some wonderful smashes which did not allowed Saina to play her natural and also the Indian top player was committing mistakes and the Chinese took the second game 21-14
The third game began with a bang with both the players matching stroke by stroke and the interval the Indian was leading 11-10. Then after Saina was playing some wonderful storkes and drops. At the same time Shixan Wang was committing mistakes. Finally Saina took the lead which is difficult to cover and finally won the set 21-16 and match 2-1.
