 1.       Ravichandran Ashwin -72 wickets
Ravichandran Ashwin ended the year with 72 wickets in test matches. He played in 12 matches bowling in 23 innings. During 2016, the top ranked bowler in latest ICC test bowler rankings was the chief destroyer for every opponent. His best figures in an innings were 7/59 and best figures in a match were 13/140.  Ravichandran Ashwin stole the show taking 5 wickets in an innings eight times and 10 wickets in a match thrice.
