5 players to watch out in India- England ODI series
India and England will start the ODI series from 15th
January 2017. It promises to be a mouthwatering clash between two top strong
teams in the world. England is a much improved side with 5 out of 7 ODI Series
win since June 2015. Virat Kohli will be leading India after MS Dhoni stepped
down from captaincy on 4th January. Here we look at the 5 players to
look out for in India- England ODI series.
Virat Kohli had a brilliant year with the bat in One day
International format for. He looked in superb form with match winning knocks
during 2016 . Now with the captain in limited overs format, Kohli would be
looking to continue his excellent form and help India win the series. His
ability to play according to situations especially in chases makes him one of
the best batsmen in the world at the present moment.
2. Jos Buttler
Jos Buttler an explosive batsman in world cricket will play
an important role for England. He comes in the middle order and can destroy any
bowling line up on its day. If Jos Buttler could play an aggressive game
against the Indian spinners which includes Ashwin, Jadeja and Mishra then
England have a chance of securing a series win in India. He plays innovative
strokes scoring at a strike rate of 120.29 and helps England to post a mammoth
total.
3. Jasprit Bumrah
Jasprit Bumrah was the rising star in limited overs format
during 2016. He made his ODI debut during Australia tour. His ability to bowl
well at the start and especially at the death has made the Indian team a strong
bowling unit. In the year 2016 he took 17 wickets in 8 matches. The Gujarat
pace bowler will play a huge rule in picking up early wickets and also bowling
yorker’s in death overs which could decide the fate of the series.
4. Ben Stokes
Ben Stokes one of the best all rounders in the world at the
present moment will play an important role. He performed well in the test
series with the bat and ball which England lost by 0-4. With ODI format, Ben
Stokes needs to play aggressively by putting pressure on the Indian bowling
line up. If powerful all rounder could perform with bat and ball then England has
a chance of upsetting India in India.
5. Yuvraj Singh
Yuvraj Singh will make a comeback into the Indian squad
after 3 years. He has done well in the Ranji Trophy 2016/17 season which has
been taken into consideration. The
Southpaw will add balance to the middle order which did not perform well in the
ODI series against New Zealand in October. He will give an option for Virat
Kohli as an option who could pick wickets in the middle overs. Now with Yuvraj
Singh in the squad, the Indian middle order looks strong. Yuvraj Singh would be
eager to make an impact in his comeback series.
