Ranji Trophy finals Day 3: Gujarat vs Mumbai

Mumbai have fought back well into the match. The last four wickets added just 37 runs and Gujarat got a lead of 100 runs. In reply Prithvi Shaw scored a quick fire 44 runs in 35 balls. The 3rd wicket partnership of SuryaKumar Yadav and Iyer added 127 runs. At the end of third day’s play Mumbai was still not out of danger of losing the match as they were 208 for 3 with lead of 108 runs.
Starting the day on 291 for 6, Shardul Thakur picked the wicket of Chirag Gandhi. Rush Kalaria stayed their but Rush Kalaria was dismissed by Balwinder Singh Sandhu. RP Singh and Hardik Patel were dismissed to help Gujarat post 328 runs with a lead of 100 runs. In reply Prithvi Shaw played some brilliant strokes off the pace bowlers. Shaw and Herwadkar added 54 runs in 9.2 overs. Herwadkar and Shaw were dismissed in quick succession. At lunch Mumbai was 66 for 2.

After the lunch break, Gujarat bowlers did not bowl according to field. SuryaKumar Yadav and Iyer played a defensive game by not playing a poor stroke and looked not in great trouble. At the tea break Mumbai was 120 for 2.
After the tea break, Iyer completed his half century and played excellent strokes off Hardik Patel. Iyer was dismissed by Gaja who ended 127 runs partnership for the third wicket. SuryKumar Yadav and Aditya Tare were at the crease as Mumbai lost 3 wickets with 108 runs lead only.
