Chahal spell spearhead’s Indian victory

An excellent bowling display by Yuzvendra Chahal and great batting display helped India trash England by 75 runs in the third and deciding T20 played at M Chinaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru just few moments.  It was a brilliant batting display by Indian batsmen with Suresh Raina, MS Dhoni scoring half centuries.
England won the toss and elected to bowl first. India lost an early wicket of captain Virat Kohli for 2 runs. KL Rahul and Suresh Raina played with positive intent scoring 53 runs in the first six overs. Suresh Raina looked in great touch hitting the England bowlers. KL Rahul and Suresh Raina put on 61 runs for the second wicket. MS Dhoni came at number 4 and put up another crucial partnership of 65 runs for the third wicket. Suresh Raina completed his half century in 39 balls. Suresh Raina was dismissed for 63 in 45 balls. Yuvraj Singh scored a quick fire 27 off 10 balls while MS Dhoni scored his first half century in T20 cricket. MS Dhoni scored 56 off 36 balls. In the last five overs India scored 70 runs which helped them to score 202 for 6 in 20 overs.

Chasing a massive target of 203, England got off to poor start losing the wicket of Sam Billings in the second over. Jason Roy and Joe Root played with aggressive intent putting on 43 runs for the second wicket. At the end of first six overs England scored 55 runs for 1. After the powerplay overs Amit Mishra took the wicket of Jason Roy. Eoin Morgan and Joe Root put pressure on the Indian bowling line up putting on 64 runs for the third wicket. Yuzvendra Chahal picked the wickets of Eoin Morgan and Joe Root in one over which changed the course of the game. England lost their last 8 wicket for 8 runs and was dismissed for 127 runs in 16.3 overs. India won the match by 75 runs and took the series 2-1.

Yuzvendra Chahal was named the man of match and also man of the series. This completes the whitewash for the Indian team in test matches, ODI and T20 series against England.

 Thanks to a brilliant spell by Curtis Campher, Ireland registered an emphatic win over the Netherlands in the opening match of Group A played at Sheikh Zayed International Stadium, Abu Dhabi on Monday. Netherlands captain Peter Seelar won the toss and decided to bat first. It was not an ideal start as Ben Cooper was run out in a mix-up as the umpire checked if Paul Stirling took the bails off and the decision was retained as out.  The second day saw some great action from both teams as the match hangs in the balance played at Kennington Oval, London on Friday. It was an ideal start for India as Umesh Yadav grabbed the wicket of nightwatchman Craig Overton with a sharp catch by Virat Kohli. Yadav struck again to dismiss Malan with another good catch by Rohit Sharma to leave England in big trouble at 62 for 5. Ollie Pope survived few anxious moments against Bumrah and Yadav. After the initial spell by both Indian bowlers, Bairstow and Pope took the advantage of poor bowling by Siraj and Thakur.
