India announces unchanged squad for first two test matches against Australia
BCCI have retained the same 16 man squad for the first two
test matches against Australia starting from 23rd February. Abhinav
Mukund, Kuldeep Yadav and Karun Nair have been named in the 16 man squad. India
played the same squad for one off test match against Bangladesh.
Mohammad Shami has not recovered from his injury. Rohit
Sharma who injured his hamstring during the fifth ODI against New Zealand is
not selected.
India has been on a roll not losing a test match since
August 2015. The Men in Blue are currently the number 1 ranked test team in the
world. It promises to be a mouthwatering series between two top teams in the
world.
Australia record in the subcontinent has been poor not
winning a test match since 2011. They have lost 9 successive test matches
including 4-0 loss to India in 2013, 2-0 loss to Pakistan in 2014 and 3-0 loss
to Sri Lanka last year. It also includes only 2 draws.
The four test match series will start from 23rd February
in Pune. The second test match will began from 4th March at Bengaluru,
the third test match at Ranchi on 16th March and final test match in
Dharmashala from 25th March.
Australia will play three day practice match against India
from 16th February at Braboune Stadium.
