Indian women beat Bangladesh to qualify for World Cup 2017
India continued their excellent form by beating Bangladesh
by 9 wickets in Super Six match today to qualify for World Cup 2017 to be held
in England later this year. Indian women played excellent cricket and dominated
Bangladesh team right from the start.
Winning the toss India elected to field. The Indian bowlers
did an excellent job restricting Bangladesh to modest 155 for 8 in 50 overs. M
Joshi was the pick of the bowlers taking 3 for 28 in 10 overs. The other Indian
bowlers did also an excellent job.
While chasing this target, the Indian team did not have a
great start losing the wicket of Mona Deepti Sharma for 1. After that Mithali
Raj and Mona Meshram dominated the Bangladesh bowlers putting on unbroken 136
runs for the second wicket. Both players scored half centuries and remained not
out on 78 and 73 respectively. India
chased down this target in 33.3 overs. India had defeated South Africa in the
first super six match.
India will play Pakistan in their third Super Six match on
19th. Other than India, South Africa have also qualified for World
Cup 2017. With this win India have also qualified for the ICC World Cup qualifiers
finals too.
India 158 for 1 in 33.3 overs(Mithali Raj 73*, Mona Meshram
78*) beat Bangladesh 155 for 8( Fargana Hoque 50, Mansi Joshi 3/25 in 10 overs)
by 9 wickets.
