Day 2- Indian’s performance at All England Badminton Championship

On Day 2 of All England Badminton Championships, Saina Nehwal and PV Sindhu progressed into the quarter finals by winning their respective matches in straight sets while HS Prannoy was knocked by seventh seed Chinese player in straight sets.

In the first match PV Sindhu took on Dinar of Indonesia. The Rio Olympics silver medallist dominated the Indonesian player right from the start winning the match in straight sets 21-12, 21-4 to progress into the quarter finals.

The second women’s player Saina Nehwal took on German qualifier Deprez. In the first set the German player created pressure on Saina Nehwal but the Indian player showed her experience winning the first set 21-18. In the second set Saina dominated the German player and won it in straight sets 21-18,21-10 to progress into the quarter finals.

In the men’s singles, the lone warrior HS Prannoy was knocked out by World number seventh seed player Tian in straight sets. HS Prannoy lost the match 13-21,5-21.

PV Sindhu defeated Dinar- 21-12,21-4
Saina Nehwal beat Deprez- 21-18,21-10
HS Prannoy lost to Tian- 13-21,5-21
