Latest ICC test bowler’s rankings: Feather in the cap for Indian spin twins
After winning the second test match match against Australia
at Bengaluru by 75 runs, the Indian spin twins Ravindra Jadeja and Ravichandran
Ashwin have become the first set of spinners to be joint top in the latest ICC
test bowlers rankings announced today. Ravindra Jadeja picked a total of 7
wickets in the second test while Ashwin picked 8 wickets in total. Ravindra
Jadeja occupies the first spot
It is great news for Indian fans as Ravichandran Ashwin and
Ravindra Jadeja played key role in helping India to win the second test match.
Ravindra Jadeja picked 6 for 63 in the first innings restricting Australia lead
to 87 runs. In the second innings, Ravichandran Ashwin picked 6/41.
Ravichandran Ashwin became the fifth highest wicket taker for India in test
match.
Both Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja are currently
at 892 points. Josh Hazlewood produced an excellent performance in the second
innings to jump at number 3. Sri Lankan spinner Ragana Hearth is at number 4.
South Africa pace bowler Rabada is at number 5 in the
rankings who has a chance to climb in the rankings in test series against New
Zealand. The next four spots are occupied by fast bowlers.
In the batsmen rankings, Virat Kohli has slipped down to
third in rankings after poor performances in second test match at Bengaluru.
Steve Smith continues to remain at the top spot.
