Pro Kabaddi League 2019: Bengal Warriors register a close fought win against U Mumba
Bengal Warriors came back from behind to defeat U Mumba at
the Patliputra Sports Complex, Patna on Friday.
It was a perfect start for U Mumba as Surinder Singh tackled
Mahinder Singh. Arjun Deshwal got a raid point in the next raid to give U Mumba
a 2-0 lead. K Prapjan got Bengal Warriors off the mark with a successful raid
point. It was a dominating performance by U Mumba raiders and defence who did
not allow Bengal Warriors to attack. In the 10th minute, Rakesh
Narwal was tackled by Fazal to give U Mumba a commanding 12-5 lead. Bengal
Warriors made a comeback into the game with successful raids and defence. U
Mumba led 16-11 at the end of the first half.
At the start of the 2nd half, Bengal Warriors
raider K Prapjan earned a Super raid by getting Fazel, Surinder Singh and Young
Chang Ho to reduce the gap to 14-16. U Mumba raider, Arjun Deshwal got 2 raid
points as he dismissed Jeeva Kumar and Rinku Narwal to level the scores at 19-19.
From 19-19 all, it was a close-fought affair as both teams raider made life tough for their oppositions. Dong Kong
Lee was tackled by Rinku Narwal as Bengal Warriors earned all out. Bengal
registered a close fought 32-30 win over U Mumba.
Bengal Warriors won more raid points with 17 as compared of
13 to U Mumba. Thanks to 1 Super raid, the match titled in favour of Bengal.
Both teams earned 2 all outs each. Arjun Deshwal was the top scorer for U Mumba
with 10 raid points. K Prapjan was the top scorer for Bengal Warriors with 5
raid points and 1 tackle. With this win, Bengal Warriors moved to 5th
while U Mumba earned 1 point for just losing by 1 point.
