Dabang Delhi defeated Puneri Paltans in a thrilling contest
at the Trans Stadium Arena, Ahmedabad on Saturday.
It was a perfect start as Delhi raider Chandran Ranjit
earned 2 points in the first raid getting Girish Maruti Ernak and Manjeet.
Nitin Tomar gave Puneri Paltans the 1st point with a touchpoint.
Surjeet Singh tackled Ranjit to level the things for Pune at 2-2. Amit Kumar gave
Pune the 3rd point. Delhi raiders made life tough for Pune
franchise. Naveen Kumar got Girish Maruti Ernak to all-out Pune giving them a commanding
11-5 lead. Delhi defense and raiders continued their impressive run to take a
19-11 lead at the end of the first half.
The second half began well for Puneri Paltans as Nitin Tomar
earned a touchpoint. Pune came back from a tough situation and gave Delhi a
shock. In the last few minutes, Girish Maruti Ernak tackled Chandran Ranjit to reduce
the margin at 24-28. With 32 seconds left on the clock, Girish Maruti Ernak
tackled Ranjit again as Pune made it 30-31. In the last raid, Manjeet did not
touch the player and went outside. Dabang Delhi won the match by 32-30.
Naveen Kumar was the top scorer for Dabang Delhi FC with 9 raid
points and 2 bonuses. Chandran Ranjit also made a difference with 7 raid points
and 1 bonus. For Pune, Nitin Tomar scored 4 raid points and 4 bonuses.
Pankaj Mohite showed his class with 4 raid points, 1 tackle and 2 bonuses.
Puneri Paltans scored 22 raid points as compared to 19 raid
points of Dabang Delhi. Both could not score any Super raids. Dabang Delhi
scored 9 tackle points as compared to 7 off Pune. Delhi got 2 all out compared
to 0 off Pune. With this win, Delhi have consolidated their top position with 5
wins and 1 loss.
