Pro Kabaddi League 2019: Haryana Steelers beat Patna Pirates despite Pardeep Narwal heroic figures
Haryana Steelers defeated Patna Pirates by 35-26 in the 2nd
match of the day played at Patliputra Sports Complex, Patna on Wednesday.
Patna Pirates took the first point of the match with a raid
point from Pardeep Narwal. It was a dominating performance by Haryana Steelers
team who raided well and tackled Patna Pirates. In the first few minutes, Haryana
Steelers all out Patna with a two-pointer raid by Vikas Kandola. Patna Pirates
tried their best to comeback into the match with a three-pointer raid from
Vinay in do or die and then Super raid from Pardeep Narwal. At half time,
Haryana Steelers led 17-9.
In the second half, Haryana Steelers continued their
impressive performance with a two-point raid from Vikas Kandola to make it 23-10.
Pardeep Narwal becomes the first raider in PKL history to score 900 raid
points. Pardeep Narwal was tackled by Haryana Steelers defense and made matters
worst for Patna Pirates. After taking a time out, Pardeep Narwal completed Super
10 in the match. The Haryana Steelers defense were too strong for Patna Pirates
raiders. In the last few minutes, Patna Pirates made Haryana all out to reduce
the gap to 25-33. Despite Pardeep Narwal’s effort, Haryana Steelers won the
match by 35-26.
In terms of raid points, Haryana Steelers and Patna Pirates
were equal on 18. Both got 1 Super raid in the match. Haryana Steelers got 12
tackle points as compared to 6 of Patna Pirates. Haryana got Patna twice while
Patna got Haryana out once.
Vikas Kandola was the best performer of the match with 9 raid
points and 1 tackle point. For Patna Pirates, the star raider Pardeep Narwal
scored 11 raid point points and 3 bonus points which made life tough for
Haryana.
Haryana Steelers is at number 8th position with
11 points while Patna Pirates is at 9th place with the same number of
points with 11 points.
