Pro Kabaddi League 2019: Haryana Steelers beat Bengaluru Bulls in a close fought game
Haryana Steelers defeated Bengaluru Bulls by 33-31 in the first match of the day at Trans Arena Stadium, Ahmedabad on Sunday.
The first half began with Bengaluru Bulls captain Rohit Kumar
earning the first point of the match with a touchpoint. Vikas Kandola made it 1-1 in favour
of Haryana Steelers. Bulls raiders put pressure on Haryana team with raid
points and Défense. In the first few minutes, Bulls all out Haryana to give
them a 12-6 lead. Haryana made a strong comeback to all-out Bengaluru reducing
the gap to 16-17 in favour of defending champions Bulls. At the end of the first
half, Bulls had a slender lead of 17-16.
Vikas Kandola got Haryana off to a perfect start in the 2nd
half with a touchpoint to level the scores at 17-17. Rohit Kumar was tackled
by Kuldeep Singh to give Haryana the lead. Pawan Sherawat levelled the score
catching Naveen. Bulls remained in the lead with brilliant touchpoints and
raid. Haryana Steelers made it 21-21 catching Pawan Sherawat which made life
tough for Bulls. Bulls took a 3 point with successful raids from Pawan. Haryana
made it 26-26 getting Bulls main raider Pawan. The match was a very close
fought affair after that also. Rohit Kumar reduced the gap to 30-31. Haryana
earned 2 points in the final raid to win the match at 33-31.
For Haryana Steelers, Vikas Kandola was the top scorer with
12 points including 8 raids, 1 tackle and 3 bonus points. For Bengaluru Bulls, Rohit
Kumar scored 8 raid points, 2 tackle and 2 bonus points. Pawan Kumar Sherawat
also shined for Bulls with 5 raid point points and 2 tackle points.
Haryana Steelers had more raid points with 18 as compared to
17 as of Bengaluru Bulls. Steelers also dominated Bulls in terms of tackle
points with 12 points as compared to 9. Both earned 2 all outs.
Despite this loss, Bengaluru is at number 2 on the points
table with 21 points from 6 games. Haryana Steelers is at number 9th the position with 16 points from 6 games.
